Robin Hood
If you travel with CT4N, but sometimes have to use another bus, train or tram service, then a Robin Hood smart card is ideal for you.
There are three types of Robin Hood card - Season, Pay As You Go and Flexible Days - which can be used within Greater Nottingham, as shown below:
Season Smartcard
Robin Hood Season is a smartcard for regular travelers, with Adult, Student and Under 19 versions available for either 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.
They offer unlimited travel, all day, every day on all bus, train and tram services in Nottingham.
To get your first Robin Hood Season card, adults can apply online. Students and Under 19s need to visit the Nottingham Travel Centre inside the Nottingham Tourism Centre in the Old Market Square.
They will issue your first card and activate it ready for use. Once you have your card, you can top it up at any of the ticket machines located at tram stops, or pop back into the travel centre again, whichever is more convenient. Online top ups are available for adult cards.
Pay As You Go
If you only travel every now and then, a Robin Hood Pay As You Go Card is ideal for you.
This card acts like an electronic purse, where you credit the card with money and the fares are automatically deducted from your balance as and when you travel. There's a fixed price for a day of travel, which you'll be capped at when you reach it, so you always pay the best price.
Pay As You Go Cards are available for Adults, Under 22's, Students and Under 19's and can be used on all services operated by CT4N including the Linkbus Network, Nottingham City Transport, tram, trentbarton, and Kinchbus services operating in the boundary above.
To get your first Robin Hood Pay As You Go Card, Adults can purchase one online or from the Nottingham Travel Centre inside the Nottingham Tourism Centre in the Old Market Square with valid ID to purchase their card.
If you are Under 19, Under 22 or a Student wishing to purchase a Robin Hood Pay As you Go Card, you will need to visit the Nottingham Travel Centre inside the Tourism Centre in the Old Market Square with valid ID to approve your age prior to purchasing the card.
All cards can be topped up from any of the ticket machines located at tram stops, with either £5, £10, £20 or £50 at a time. The maximum you can have on your card is £100. Online top ups are available for adult cards.
Flexible Days
Robin Hood Flexible Days is a multi-operator card that gives unlimited travel on any bus or tram for 20 or 50 individual days. This means that you can access 20 or 50 individual all-day travel passes, to use when you need it on buses and the tram at rates cheaper than paying on the day.
Your Robin Hood Flexible Days card can be purchased at the Nottingham Tourism and Travel Centre or via the website. Once you have your Flexible Days card, you can then top-up with an additional 20/50 days via the mobile app or online. If you top-up online, the travel passes can then be collected from any of the handy on-street ticketing machines (including the tram ticket machines) or via the Robin Hood ticketing app.
