Day Trips
Here at CT4N Charitable Trust, we run a range of trips aimed at continuing our work tackling social isolation and connecting communities by ensuring you have places to visit and enjoy time together.
We have updated our list of trips for 2025 which ensures there is a range of places to visit, including our most popular requests to garden centres which now include the new Gates Garden Centre at Hinckley and the return of Foodie Friday.
Bakewell Market (Monday)
The market in Bakewell is held every Monday on the streets of the Town Centre. There are around 140 stalls offering a diverse range of goods including food, clothing, crafts and more.
Around Bakewell are plenty of places to enjoy a cuppa, something to eat and no visit is complete without purchasing a traditional Bakewell Pudding, which has been sold locally for over 200 years.
There is also a Cattle Market which takes place on Monday where you can visit the auctions taking place involving all livestock (including sheep, pigs, cows) which gives you an insight into how our farmers in the local countryside trade.
The market is held every Monday with exception to Bank Holiday Mondays.

Garden Centres (Tuesday & Thursday)
There are a number of fantastic garden centres located around Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, all selling everything from a sapling to kitchen accessories and clothing, alongside great places to enjoy a cuppa, a piece of cake and lunch menus.
New for 2025 is Gates Garden Centres in Oakham and Hinckley.
The Gates Garden Centre located in Hinckley is completely flat and a much better option for anyone who has mobility issues and also has a branch of The Works and Pet Corner.

Newark Market (Wednesday)
Located in the town of Newark is the popular Newark Market. There are many stalls including local produce, antiques and much more. On the outside of the market are many small independent shops including a traditional butcher and many coffee shops and places to eat.
If you have time, you can also take a short walk to visit Newark Castle, which has excellent gardens to sit and relax.

Foodie Friday
Foodie Friday is back for 2025 - Very simple, you select the restaurant or pub you are wanting to visit, book your date with us and enjoy great food and great company without any pot washing, unless of course you forget to bring your money..
Total price per bus is £120.00 to £140.00 dependent on destination and covers up to 16 people travelling or 12 people and 1 wheelchair - This does not cover the cost of food at the restaurant
