Beeston Town Centre Works
Today
As an operator of bus services, we appreciate how inconvenient any works which take place on the route can cause inconvenience, especially when it affects reliability.
Once again, we are facing another set of works which are taking place in Beeston Town Centre on Station Road and Wollaton Road affecting Service 18a.
CT4N was not advised of these works taking place via any of the usual communication channels and these works suddenly appeared on Saturday 28th March, when the works were not supposed to be commencing until Monday 30th March.
The screen shot below from VIA East Midlands shows the works which are to be taking place:

These works have been described as contra flow works, which means traffic management will be in place as these works take place, however no mention of a road closure. What took place on Saturday and is still in place on Sunday is the road cordoned off with Harris fencing before the works are due to take place.

CT4N have contacted VIA East Midlands with regards to these matters, however we have been advised that we will need to make contact Monday morning.
Diversion Service 18a
We have therefore had to take the decision to put a diversion in place for Service 18a until these matters are resolved:
Journeys towards Wollaton from Nottingham
Normal route will be in operation to Beeston Interchange, the bus will then divert via Broadgate and Woodside Road, commencing normal route at Priory Island.
Journeys towards Nottingham from Wollaton
Normal route will be in operation to Woodside Road, then the bus will continue via Broadgate, commencing normal route from Beeston Interchange.
All stops along the diversion route will be served.
The following stops will not be served:
- Wilkinson Street
- Lidl
- Cyprus Avenue
- Fellows Road
- Farfield Avenue
- Wollaton Road
- Dennis Avenue
- Beeston Fields Drive
- Central Avenue
- Brook Road
The 15:15 Service 18a journey departing from Nottingham to Beeston Fields will only operate to Beeston Interchange.
Barry Allitt, Managing Director for CT4N had a meeting with Juliet Campbell, Labour MP on Friday 27th March where he shared his concerns regarding the A52 works which are taking place between Prior Island and QMC with regards to there being no bus measures in place to assist with peak time journeys. and therefore these works in Beeston are once again only going to affect the service provided to our customers.
We apologise for any inconvenience these works will cause which are out of our control.
